How To Measure

measure for formahoof

Measure Length & Width

Clean the hoof and measure the Length and Width of your horse’s hoof as shown in the diagram. Don’t include bulbs of the heel! If, due to an underlying condition, there are significant differences in the Length and Width of the horse’s hoof, always take the larger measurement.

Check the Size Chart

Check the FormaHoof sizing chart and select the Mould size that best fits with your horse’s measurements, making sure to use the correct units. Note: The Mesh used in an application will add approximately 2mm to the measurements.

FormaHoof Regular vs Slimline

Regular or Slimline?

Regular is the best option for round shaped front feet. Slimline is the best option for hind feet and for narrow front feet. If the measure Length is longer than it is wide, you would choose a Slimline Mould. If they are close to the same you choose Regular.
