Profile
John Stalker Farrier Service Northumberland & Cumbria
I have been around horses all my life. My family used to own a trekking centre right in the heart of the Lake District and so care of the horse’s feet was always paramount. My career was set after seeing a local farrier shoeing a horse at a local country fair and I knew I couldn’t do anything else but work with horses. At the age of 17 I went to Myerscough College to start the 5 year apprenticeship to become a farrier and in 2011 I qualified as a DIP.WCF.
I have now owned my own business for 11 years and love every aspect of my job, I work with all breeds and ages of horses (and donkeys might I add) but have always enjoyed the remedial part of being a farrier and love seeing horses come back from chronic hoof problems. I have only recently, became involved with FormaHoof but I love the product and can’t wait to see the progress on the horses I will be working with.
John has completed the FormaHoof Certified Applicator Course where hoof care professionals are assessed to ensure their FormaHoof applications are consistent and meet FormaHoof standards.
