Hoof treatment and replacement is moving on. At a canter.
The innovative range of FormaHoof products represents a different way of thinking about hoof care. Lightweight and robust, the strength of this breakthrough technology lies in its flexible and customizable nature, with a range of molds which can be tailored to different hoof shapes, sizes and conditions. Simple to apply once trained and nail-free, it’s shaping a different future for horses. A future free from pain and discomfort, making healthy hooves a happy reality.
Care, kindness and comfort. A major step forward in hoof rehabilitation and replacement.
Besides treating laminitis, white line disease, hoof cracks, thin soles and high/low syndrome and many of the issues and ailments associated with conventional hooves, Formahoof is also trusted as a reliable hoof replacement system and a healthy alternative to a standard shoe. For the 67,500 horses which suffer from laminitis every year in the UK alone, it can be literally life changing.
FormaHoof Foal Extensions. Big innovation for small foals.
Key benefits of FormaHoof Foal Extensions:
Easy application, as the FormaHoof AP (Advanced Polymer) cures quickly within the mold.
Safer for the foal, because the streamlined design makes it harder for other horses to step on.
FormHoof AP is non-osmotic, so it doesn’t leach the proteins from the hoof wall
Can be easily and safely removed without damaging the hoof capsule

Medial Lateral Extension
The medial and lateral support applications support the developing leg, while ensuring balance in the hoof capsule. Our molds allow for easy application of the FormaHoof AP to the hoof capsule, putting users fully in control while it sets. To ensure gentle application, the product can be cooled beforehand by placing it in a fridge or icebox. This reduces the heat of the product in the curing process, increasing foal comfort.
Caudal Heel Extension
Hind feet are crucial to a foal’s lifelong athleticism. If a foal is born with or develops lax tendons in the front and hind limbs, the condition may require careful intervention if it doesn’t rectify itself. FormaHoof neatly takes care of the problem. When used at an early stage, our caudal extensions provide vital support while muscle and tendon develop, dramatically improving dynamic stability, relieving stress on young bones and minimising hoof and joint distortion.
FormaHoof Toe Extension applications are mainly used to treat club feet in foals and young horses and can be trimmed to size. The extension acts as a lever during breakover and forces an extension of the coffin joint to the point where the heel touches the ground. This increases tension on the deep flexor tendon which in turn should lead to the stretching of the muscle. This typical foal hoof formation is caused by a downward rotation of the top of the coffin bone by the deep digital flexor tendon, with a stage 1 severity (when the front of the hoof is vertical or less than vertical) or stage 2 severity (where the dorsal hoof wall passes beyond the vertical, tipping slightly forward). Our toe extensions prevent this and aid with correct realignment of the hoof pastern axis.
